Sterlé, Pierre

Pierre Sterlé vintage jewellery at Marjan Sterk

Pierre Sterlé’s work has never been as widely known as that of, for example, Cartier or Van Cleef & Arpels. Yet this designer has been just as groundbreaking as his more famous colleagues. He first worked for the large jewellery houses on and around Place Vendôme in Paris, but in the 1940s and 50s clients and collectors knew where to find his studio. Famous are his colorful brooches in the shape of birds of paradise with flexible tails. His work is always full of movement and flexibility and being worn his creations come to life.
