Lalanne, Claude

Claude Lalanne (1924-2019) studied architecture until her marriage to François-Xavier Lalanne in the 1960s. Together they were known as ‘Le Lalanne’ and their work shifted towards the field of decorative arts. Their quirky designs blended modern techniques with traditional craftmanship and were inspired by the animal and vegetal worlds, and sometimes had a surrealist twist.
