Chaumet L’Arcade flower necklace

An eighteen carat yellow gold choker collar with spring hinge and open at the bottom, on one side a large detachable flower with satiné and polished petals, wearable as a brooch. Signed Chaumet, made in Paris, ca 1970. Part of the L’Arcade series. In original case.

L’Arcade was founded by Chaumet in 1970 as a gallery for jewellery and modern living. Numerous artist were hired to create this state-of-the-art masterpiece on the, by that time still very traditional, Place Vendôme. The jewels Chaumet created for L’Arcade were clear examples for 1970’s and 80’s design. The oldest jeweller on Place Vendôme, on that day demonstrated that he was also the most modern and innovative.
